The purpose was not only to educate seniors, but to also improve the working knowledge of the services available through each of the agencies represented to other presenters attending. The day seminar spotlighted information presented in the following areas: estate planning, elder abuse, heating financial assistance (IL Valley Economic Development Corporation), senior health services (through Public Health), wellness/preventative medicine, and more. Margaret Duncan and Pam Direso spoke about Catholic Charities’ MedAssist program. Thanks to all who participated and special thanks to Catholic Charities staff. 5. Caring Partners Membership Drive Helps Catholic Charities
The advisory board of Carlinville Catholic Charities is pleased to announce its participation in the agencywide Caring Partners annual membership drive. The board is engaged in an effort to make presentations in area Catholic parishes in order to promote our services to people in need and invite "caring partners" to support our agency. The Caring Partners membership drive is
an effort to raise support from individual donors in the communities
where we serve. At a level of $200 per year, or about $17 per month,
donors can become Caring Partners by providing vital assistance to programs
offered by the Carlinville office. Donors will receive a 2009 color window cling, newsletters and the agency's annual report, and recognition on a Caring Partners plaque displayed in the Carlinville office. Gifts can be made in one payment, or at various intervals (monthly or quarterly) during the year. A donation form can be downloaded by clicking here or a secure online donation may be made by clicking here. Donors may also call (217) 854-4511 on weekdays to make a contribution using Visa or MasterCard.
