Also welcome to Sr. Sandra Sudkamp, Client Advocate/MedAssist, and Greg Dust, Second Hand Rose Worker.
Sandra Fox and Larry Boehler - 10-Year Service Award

Ramblin' Rose Bus Entered in Teutopolis K of C Parade
The volunteers and staff decided it would be fun to showcase the Ramblin’ Rose Bus in the Teutopolis Knights of Columbus.
Shopping carts from Second Hand Rose Resale Shoppe were loaded with small stuffed toys and books to hand out to the children along the parade route. The carts were decorated with colorful posters thanking the volunteers and to especially invite the general public to come and shop at Second Hand Rose Resale Shoppe.
The bus was decorated with large stuffed animals hanging out the windows. Volunteers and staff followed the bus pushing carts down the parade route.
Wal-Mart "Feeding America"
In mid 2008 Wal-Mart announced a commitment to a national donation program with Feeding America. Wal-Mart authorized SuperCenters and Neighborhood Market stores to donate meat, deli, bakery, produce, dairy, and dry grocery items to local food pantries that are part of the National Food Bank. 1200 stores are currently active, with plans for all 2700 stores by late 2009.
The local Wal-Mart in Effingham managed by Bob Lakin began donating to the Catholic Charities Food Pantry in June 2009. The food from Wal-Mart has enabled Catholic Charities to continue to provide food for the increased number of families coming to the pantry weekly.
Catholic Charities would like to thank Bob Lakin, the Wal-Mart employees, and the volunteers who pick up the food for helping Catholic Charities help those in need.
Ramblin' Rose Bus Runs
The Ramblin’ Rose Bus travels to rural communities in the Catholic Charities seven county service area bringing school supplies and clothing to the children for the start of the school year. The bus ran from mid-July to mid-August serving 1934 children this year.
Thanks to all who contributed to making this Catholic Charities Program a success. WXEF & Pepsi for hosting the annual “Pack the Bus”, individual and businesses who so generously donated school supplies, made monetary contributions, and purchased fuel for the bus. Also, thanks to our volunteers who take the bus out on the runs and assist the children in selecting their supplies.
Memorials
Family and friends often choose to honor the memory of loved ones with a memorial donation to Catholic Charities. We wish to acknowledge receipt of those donations by listing the names of the deceased loved ones for whom a memorial was made during the past year.

Caring Partner Program
The Caring Partner Program was initiated in all the Catholic Charities offices throughout the Diocese of Springfield to give people the opportunity to donate on an annual basis and partner with us “to extend to all the healing and empowering presence of Jesus”.
The program strives to provide a consistent stream of financial resources so that we can continue to serve our clients in the same generous manner as in the past and not have to consistently engage in many small fundraising activities. At present the membership is $200 per year or about $17 per month. Payment may be made as a one-time $200 donation or set up on a payment schedule throughout the year.
Your participation in the Caring Partner Program would make you a partner in providing vital assistance to our agency’s programs and give us a consistent donation we can rely upon year after year.
